Stitches
Well now, that could mean alot of things on a knitting blog now couldn’t it?
I could have learned some new stitches..
I could be sewing something!
I could have dropped some stitches!
I could be GOING to Stitches Midwest..Hmm what could it mean?
Well knowing me it’s none of the above!
Let’s quote the doctors chart:
“jar of applesauce dropped on foot”Yep it’s those kind of stitches.
Quote from the victim:
“I want relief instantaneously!”Well now you know it wasn’t Caleb although he did come up with the word sunset at 9 months old..
Julian? He hardly talks. Not him.
Here’s another quote from the victim that will clear it up:
“Why did Azia have to drop a jar of applesauce on my foot?”Well you guessed it. The recipient of the stitches is Jaxom. His second round of stitches.
Here he is! Poor thing.
Two stitches, nothing broken! He has to take it easy for at least 24 hours, no swimming for at least 72 hours and rewrap it every 24 hours!
He seems to get stitches whenever there is a big terrorist event! It’s uncanny. The first time was the annaversary of 9/11. (I had second thoughts about sending him to school that day.. should have listened to my instincts eh?)
And then today as I was taking inventory of all the people I know in London when wham, it hit!Shortly after I got home the BBT pulled up with a package from my secret pal.

Thanks
not soSecret Pal! (yep ya’ll know I know who she is!!) I still hope everything is alright with you!! Hang tight! I know this is probably a tense day for you too. With heightened alert status and all. Your delay in timing turned out PERFECT! See! God works in mysterious ways!I am listening to the CD as I write this. It is AWESOME! And with those patterns for socks in the book I have no more excuses not to get out the DPN’s and try them! RATS! Actually it’ll help with the heel design I am working on for the looms!
Really! I do knit! I have a post all written up and ready to go I’ll post it later with a Dad update! Gotta call him and entertain him with the big fat toe story!!

Weekend update..
Well as you know we went to the races last weekend. Despite my protests for his safety my friend Tom went out on the track! I know he’s well trained for this and it is really cool to see him fulfulling one of his biggest dreams..
Here he is!
He was in one of the first races and then in the last race of the day, so there was plenty of time for knitting.
The kids enjoyed it too.
Then on Sunday we went to a picnic at Tom’s Aunt and Uncle’s house. It was beautiful! Now if I could only get one of these in my yard! When we got back on Sunday night there was the Sunday paper waiting for me with a 10% Joann’s coupon. So I snuck off Monday for a little S.E.X.. (stash enhancement expedition..)
Some Cotton Ease. Julian kept putting it in the basket and said it was for his little socks. (I’ve made a monster!) Some red Kool Wool for a one skein wonder and probably a little left over. And the last skein of Homespun Corinthian that I will need to finish my prayer shawl. And last but not least:
Instead of this:

I have this!

Now mabye I can make that one skein wonder and it will fit! -
Bedside manner..
Well my brother is a pastor. I am beginning to question his bedside manner.
(I get to pick on him he’s my brother after all!)So he calls me and leaves a message on my phone.
“Hi, it’s me.
Happy Birthday, Happy Fourth of July (I think he was stalling to see if I would pick up)
Uh.. Dad went to the hospital last night, he has a blockage in his colon and they think it might be cancerous.”See what I mean!
Well, Dad is at the hospital. Originally they were going to take a look at what was in there on Tuesday and then surgery on Wednesday. But this morning the other doctor said why wait.
So he was supposed to go into surgery today. They are in California so they are 3 hours behind us.
Last I knew I was talking to Dad while he was getting blood drawn and signing his colon away.Waiting for the next call.
I’ll fill in the knitting successes of the weekend later! The battery charger for the camera was found and much knitting was done at the races and the trip there and back.
Later!
Dad Update
Dad had the surgery. They took our about 1/3 of his colon and the growth. It is pretty much certain that is it cancer. The rest of his colon looked clear! But they did some biposy for testing. He is doing well, resting and Mom is being entertained by her four west coast grand children.
