Cool stuff
Here are the pictures I couldn’t post!
Well perhaps if I had had a pair of these I would have made my squares for Diva’s challenge actually square. Well they are on their way to her and hopefully she can use them. Sorry Diva, the honeycomb patterh square is a litle short. I ran out of yarn, and since is was mystery yarn given to me I couldn’t go any further!

Hmm you can’t see it but the really dark one is cabled!! Pretty cool!
Hope they go to a good use!And speaking of cool things, have you seen the brand new MenKnit online magazine? It’s really nice! (yes even for girls) Franklin has a great article in there! Good job Franklin! I am hoping that we can get some knitting men in our local group!!
And on the kid angle, that new show Little Einstiens is really good! If you have a young un I highly reccomend it! But for me it’s also worrisome. You see it’s so good that it is going over some of the curriculum in art and music that my little guys might do with OHVA when/if I homeschool them! That means if they pay attention they will already know/be familiar with this stuff and be bored.. or mabye we can zoom through it more quickly!
But, on the other hand it’s a good review for my older two and I can count it as a little extra music time.
Because they actually do play along!:mrgreen:Tonight I have to mend the seam in my Noro shrug so it can have it’s real debut at the knitting group or wherever I decide to go tommorow night. Man.. Amy Grant Three Wishes free concert nearby, church meeting or knitting.. I dunno!
Last but not least..
Talk about a late bloomer!

oops.. Iforgot to put the picture in! -
Now we are getting somewhere.
Well after some help from Amie (http://rosebyany.blogspot.com/) I was able to barrel through the mistaken grammer of the knitting pattern to finish my sock! Thanks Amie!
So ta da here it is! I actually finished it Friday night right around midnight. But the camera cable was missing.
I found it eventually, in the BACK YARD! Yes. My little two year old helper struck again!
I now am done with the cuff of the second sock. They are matching up dreamily! Perfecto!
I could get into this sock thing. I would show you but now the camera is missing. Perhaps I should look in the sand box. I already looked in the bathtub. Earlier it was the scene of a buble bath of Brady family proportions! I was out with Azia so we missed that one; but Brian took a couple pictures. My mother did make it to Rhineback. She was in complete shock! She had no idea it was so big! Now I really can’t wait to go next year. She says, next year I will get YOU tickets and you can go!! I offered to pull her around in my wagon, she said that sounded ok. (that is till the stash enhancement fills it up..)
They had a generally good time, got some wine saw some fossils (my father is a geology prof. so that kept him entertained). They got Azia a pair of ‘chopsticks’ (that’s knuggle for wooden knitting needles) She saw an Alpaca cape she liked (see she has good taste!) I have no idea what she might have gotten me!
Can’t wait to see. I don’t know if I have to wait till Christmas! That’s the real trouble!Hope you all had fun if you went! See you next year!
(really I will check the sandbox in the morning so I can post those pictures, it’s dark and cold out there and I don’t think the racoons will take too much interest in it.)

Sending the Knuggles to Rhineback
Well, I can’t make it to Rhineback. The fact is the kids are all coming down with coughs so it probably would not have been a pleasant experience anyway.. But my lovely Mother has volunteered to go. So I promised her I would give her a little direction as to where to go and what to get..
I would have to say that your first stop would have to be the Spirit Trail Fibers tents.
Stephanie will be there at 11 am, signing her books! Yes my dear Mother you can meet the Yarn Harlot I so fondly speak of. Perhaps even get a glimmer of her humour and wit. And a copy of her second book (signed for me?) The Secret Life of a Knitter. I have a signed copy of her first book so I might as well have a matching set, right? Just tell her it’s for me. Mention my blog by name and she will say oh yes! I know her!
Well strike that. It looks like she will not be there after all. Some things are indeed, more important. But if she does show up. Just give her a big hug.And while you are there just touch all those lovely silks and silk blends for me will you? Oh and if you see something you like do pick it up I will be glad to knit something for you. Or hey, just ask what’s good.
Now there are a few faces you should be on the look out for. If you see any of these people, please do tell them I said hello. (Sorry Franklin will be there and gone on Saturday so there isn’t any chance of running into him)

Another worth while stop (not that there are any booths that are unworthy, just looking at the list makes one’s head whirl) is the Finger Lakes Yarn booth. Dawn Brocco should be there. I love her designs. And she is darn nice too.. she is in the Yahoo Knit Design group. So any of that ‘Un Spun’ would be nice.. Or any of the kits look excellent.Morehouse Merino Farms is a must. They have coupons for the show at their website. Just click here So see you can save money! The kids really like the snake scarves! (yes even Azia)
Seriously.. I don’t really need any more yarn (what was that noise.. was it Brian hitting the floor across town in his office?) but I could use a set of size 6, 32″ Addi Turbo circulars so I can make this:

With all that nice fingering weight alpaca you bought me!
And Perhaps a set of 2, 24″ size 11 circulars (or a set of DPN’s) so I can make some more felted stuff like slippers and bags and such with some that wool you got me! Or hey any other interesting looking accsesories! (cough yarn swift coughspining wheel cough nice spindle set cough)
Like 5 interesting buttons for this:(mine will be in brown)

Oh and Azia could use a pair of size 5 straight needles in wood or bamboo so she can knit some animals from her new book, some worsted weight (at least 100 yards)yarn would be cool too. (horse colours?)
Oh and don’t forget an umbrella. I hear it is going to rain. And bloggers.. if you see this woman,
Well you know what to do! -
Feet only a mother could love..
Here you go Mim. Here are some feet for you!

Oh.
What’s that?
They look a little dirty?
Oh.
What’s that white stuff on them you say?
Oh, well
I can explain that.
You see Mim, they are the feet of my two year old. If that doesn’t explain it all then I will just have to go a little further. They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Yeah.
That’s why his feet look like that.Well that’s not totally true. He also snuck outside in his bare feet to the sand box again.
So they only looked like this earlier.

He must have thought that just wasn’t good enough for you Mim!Only the best for you!Well now that I am done using the carpet cleaner. I think I need to go soak those feet. (and mine too)
It’s my night off. I think a small yarn purchase is in order..(I have a coupon!)2005-9-11 T16:22:30
P.S.
We have more feet in this house.
Oh didn’t I mention that?Here they are.

Oh, why do you ask what they are doing there in the bathtub?
Well, I can explain that. After all that excitement above, I did what any sane person would do! I put the oldest two to task playing a math game for their math time. I went out and got the mail with those feet following close behind.
I came back in and sat down to knit a few rows, and watch the episode of Knitty Gritty I had recorded last night. And put my feet up.
That was the mistake right there wasn’t it Mim.
Because that is when I smelled something funky. And what with the owner of those dirty little feet washed up and tucked in for a nap, I knew it wasn’t the usual funky smell I smell.Yep it was the owner of those four feet.
So. I scrubbed her up!
That seems my fate today Mim. Perhaps she wanted to get in on the action too.
Ah well.
Then it was my turn.
And that is all I have to say about that.

The good and the bad..
The good thing about having boys…
They often come with race car bedding which when paired with an ironing board makes an excellent blocking board. The bad thing about having boys…

they like to play with things…Another block down for the Diva Knitting Challenge. Despite the pin rearrangement I think this one is closer on the mark in size.
That will be 4 down, one on the needles. And perhaps one on the knitting board!
I am halfway through the sock cuff it’s looking cool. I like the colours in the self striping yarn! Thanks SP!!
