     The one word meme…

Please leave a one-word comment that you think best describes me — it can only be one word long. Then copy and paste this into your blog so that I may leave a word about you.

  • KNITSCENE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK.. either I am the first to see it and talk about it or I am like the clueless last one!!

In any case.. the Knitscene project summaries are up and some of the online patterns too!

I pretty much like everything again.. But that Annie Modesitt has hit a home run! That cute hat in Meunch Touch Me yarn!! OI! That’s a must knit!

I  had fun last night in an online knit-along hosted by Lynn Markman. We were knitting with plastic bag yarn.. It’s kinda neat.. I have two balls of it that have been sitting around so I figured I would be sociable and join in. I will probably pull the piece off my loom and get over my second sleeve syndrome.. For one.. it keeps getting chilly around here.. so I need it, and I really want to get that pattern out!

Brian came home with this blast from the past last night… the kids had a lot of fun with it!

  • Dear Vickie Howell,

You owe me a decent grilled cheese sandwich.. why you say. Well I will tell you why..

Yesterday just before lunch I received your book New Knits on the Block. I quickly opened it, because as you know kids always want to know what is in a package that arrives. I leafed through the book.. looks great.. and set it down so I could cook up our grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.

That’s when everything went wrong.. you see no sooner had I placed the book on the table and started up the first batch of sandwiches when my oldest son walked into the room, followed by his Dad. My son spied the book and picked it up.

Now being highly protective of my new prize book, I had to supervise. My husband came over to look and as we oohed and aaaahed our way through the book.. to a chorus of oooh I want that, the sandwiches lay forgotten on the pan.

My nose started to twitch.. I smelled something.. Oh no the sandwiches were burning!!! I ran over and flipped them over.. they were ruined. Ah well.

I cooked up a few more and served them up. Then when my youngest son came to the table he spied the book. It was all over. One can’t very well let one’s two year old pour over one’s new knitting book can one? So as I supervised the little one looking over the book and asking to see the ‘bath captain’, over and over again.. my other three children and husband grabbed the ‘good’ sandwiches off the plate.

And so.. you see .. I was left with the cold, burnt sandwiches. So Vickie… you owe me…

    Sincerly,

    Denise

PS.. I see some knitting of projects in this book in my future!

    Babysize it!

    april 055.jpg

Not bad.. I think I am going to whip up another one on the blue Knifty Knitter just to see how much smaller it will be due to the difference in the peg spacing.

Besides you never know when you will need a tiny pink sweater.. right?

    NOT!

Well let’s see.. it figures that my daughter would be the first kid in the family to get a shiner!!

    ouch!

She got whacked in the eye twice the other day and ended up with a black eye.

I am liking knitting up my samples for the new pattern. It’s fun! It’s easy.. but I still have second sleeve syndrome when it comes to the adult size one! ah well and it’s been cool here so I could use it.. but does that influence me? Nah.. I would rather knit up the whole baby size one.. hmm..

    tiny sweater!!

This came in the mail yesterday. I LOVE it!

    cutie loomie!

It’s a teeny tiny EFG sock loom from Decor Accents! It is a great design tool for me! I can whip out a great little sample sock within hours! Rather than what seems like forever with the ‘me’ size socks.. I tell ya there are going to be a couple of babies around here well fitted with  fancy little hand knit socks! Too bad none of my live models are out of their handy dandy carrying cases..

I came across Jelly Yarn…hmmmm yeah.. interesting!

Hopefully I will get out my One Skein partner’s gift tonight! Yeah. Now that it is descented… I am learning something from this.. who knew that silk and silk blends are ‘stinky’ ? I didn’t but now I know!

I am feeling a bit better today. I guess I opted for the three days of rigorous queasiness rather than the 24 hours of throwing up .. I don’t know which is worse..

Paying the bills…

Coming April 13th

I get free stuff with SwagBucks!

I use it, and love it!
