Paying the bills…

I use this and love it!

Dog Daze….

I think that is what they really mean when they say the dog days of summer.. that is certainly what our dog has been doing..

Just shuffling around in a daze.. all of us are for that matter.

Well now there is some exiting news.. I got my second quarter notice from the publisher.. the booklet is selling well! over 6000 copies sold! Which means I actually got a check.. now what to do what to do.. oh yeah.. I have to pay for the permit to the township to get the sewer line hooked up… yep lets see they are making us pay for a permit to get something done that by law we have to do, if we don’t want the wrath of the state health dept on us..so the township decides they are putting in water and sewer lines. Dig up the town and cause traffic nightmares for two years.. then force us to pay for a permit for the thing they are forcing us to do.. hmmm and people don’t trust government.. gee I wonder why.. what a rap they have going!! Wish I could think up some brilliant money making scheme like that..

In any case.. after the payment for the permit.. it leaves us will a little money left over to maybe buy a couch.. or if we go to Unclaimed frieght  one of their low end couches and love seats..which I want to do soon so that money does not get sucked into the sewer project.. ugh..And finding someone to do the job. Well that is a whole other story..

So thank you all.. for my permit and my couch!! See you never know what good you do when you buy a book!!

The other good news is… with my destashing and pattern sales I was able to get a spinning wheel!!!!!!! WOOOO HOOOO!

This baby is winging it’s way to me and I even have just enough to buy some fiber and perhaps take a local class.. pretty cool!

Blame it on my parents.. I have had an obsession with spinning for a long time..all those trips to Williamsburg..and other historical sites.. there was always a spinning wheel about.. and someone using it!! Heck Mt Vernon had a room full of them.. but I never thought that I would be able to try it.

I got a really good deal on the wheel so I will.. give it a spin!

Now.. how to finish it.. I am soo tempted to paint the wheel with one of those super crazy spinning optical illusions.. but I think I will just sand and wax it for now and then add a design later.. you know after I am good enough to take it out in public. hehe

The munching hour..

We all know that midnight is the witching hour.. the time for creepy crawly things that go bump in the night to come out and… well go bump..

Around my house we have a quite different hour… it starts generally around 4:30 pm.. the little vultures start circling.. waiting for something to munch on.

Nothing is safe now that Caleb our youngest has discovered how to use the backs of our kitchen chairs as ladders.. heck he cna reach things in the cupboard even I can’t reach..

Inevidably once a week he will get into the refrigerator (we gave up on the ‘childproof’ lock ages ago.) and get and egg out and it always ends up all over the floor.

So I have taken to coding our eggs.. the hard boiled ones have little smiley faces drawn on them.. so far it seems to be working.. a little. mabye..

I forgot what??

Hmm just to show you how unfocused I have been this week..

I went to my friends house the other day so the kids could play with her kids, and swim a bit. I grabbed everything the kids needed I grabbedmy chart for my design project, I grabbed my loom and the knitting tool. I even grabbed the crochet hook.. and.. FORGOT THE YARN!

So there I sat for an hour and a half.. with no yarn.. ugh!

Now yesterday I had it with me when we went to a school get together at a local park.. but.. didn’t get anything done!!

So finally yesterday afternoon I sat and knat..(yes.. knat) and got something done.. however.. I knit the ribbing section tooo long and need to pull back and redo.. ah well.. one step forward two back.. looks like a bit of a rainy day so it will work out..

I am still super distracted by the idea of a spinning wheel..I am thinking a Babe Fiber Garden Pinkie wheel might just fit the bill.. Just need to skrimp and save a little more..

To that end.. there is a price drop in my older patterns.. The Celtic Braid Scarf and the Honeycomb Hat Beanie patterns are now both $3.99.

I will probably post some stuff on the Destash site as well… so come on over.. (it’s a great place for bargains anyway!! Just ask Isela!)

Don’t leave your broom? in the driveway..

Hmm.. of all the things parents say.. I should have said that.. go figure..

I just finished un knitting the top section of my sneak peek project. It wasn’t quite right so out it came. I have recharted and will start it over again.

August is shaping up to be a busy month. I . . . → Read More: Don’t leave your broom? in the driveway..
