    DOWNSIZING NOWWWWWWWWW

    Oh dear….???

  • I’m blogging in the middle of a wedding….

Date: 2006.07.22 | Category: Knitting Without Needles | Response: 1

yep.. well sort of. There is a large gap of time between the wedding and reception and it is so close to home that we came home for a snack and a break and for me to put the finishing touches on the present. A hand knit hearth rug. I’ll show it off later and give some directions to make your own.. It was a hybred.. half knit without needles and half with.. but easily could be done completely either way!

    As you can see

    I am wingless...

my dragon wings are NOT on my shoulders as I wanted but still on the needles.. The rows just keep getting longer and longer!! I will get  through this skein of yarn.. I will! I could have just cast off and worn it as is but I decided not to. Too bad too I could use it! It’s finally chilly today!

Well have to pry Caleb away from his most recent favourite past time..

cat in a bag.. sorta like.. snakes on a plane!

torturing the kittens..(the kitten likes to play inside plastic grocery bags.. don’t worry I usually don’t let them stay in there long..) and get everyone rounded up to head out to the reception!!

BTW.. I am working on saving up to buy a spinning wheel.. anyone have one cheap?? Need some yarn?? hey ask I might have it!!heheh Got to scrimp and save!

  • SHING!!

Date: 2006.07.17 | Category: Knitting Without Needles | Response: 2

That’s what my two year old size 13 knitting needle wielding son said..

april 028.jpgAs he ran around the house giggling waiting for me to run and catch him..

with the needle he had pulled out of my knitting..

The thing about knitting looms is.. they don’t make good swords..so no good sound effects..

They  just don’t have that …

    shing…

PS. I am working on an addendum to the Jiree Pattern, so that you can make a custom adult size any size you  need really.. everyone who has bought.. or will buy the pattern will get a copy of it when it is ready! Thanks for all of those who have purchaced the pattern.. remember the BOGO will go till Friday midnight!! I will email you the free pattern of your choice with the purchace of the Jiree pattern!

  • Jiree Pattern

Date: 2006.07.14 | Category: Knitting Without Needles | Response: 4

Hello all! It’s time to celebrate the release of my latest design Jiree! Made on the large (yellow) Knifty Knitter or the new long Knifty knitter looms, Jiree is offered in three sizes: infant(20″ chest*), child(30″ chest*) and adult(44″ bust*)! It can be made as a tunic style vest or add sleeves for a cozy cardigan! *this is the finished measurement of the sweater, the wrap front allows for it to be crossed over and wrapped for smaller sizes.

    infant size

    Child Size vest style

    Pam's Jiree!

The materials used are a Boucle yarn such as Bernat Soft Boucle 200 yards for the infant version, 400 for the child version and 600 for the adult version! Techniques used are: cable cast on, garter stitch (alternating rows of knit and purl),making a flat peice on a round loom, and making and  I-cord. (all techniques with the exception of the cable cast on are available in my book Learn to Knit on Circle Looms, or simply click on the technique names for online tutorials!)

I would say this is a great pattern for an advanced beginner, a newbie who is looking for a bit of a challenge!

The Jiree pattern will be on sale for $4.99.

There are only 6 months till Christmas! So you need to start knitting up your presents now!!!

Click here to buy it now online through Paypal..

Special thanks goes out to my test knitters Pam, and Crystal Kini (who is the Mom of that cute model..check out her other pictures on her site!!!) They have been troopers and have helped to make this pattern better and easier to follow than even I could have imagined!! And thanks to Isela for the great techiniques and online tutorials linked above!!

Paying the bills…

Coming April 13th

I get free stuff with SwagBucks!
