Well I am trying catch up here and get posting about last weekend.. One of the big things that happened is that Brian and I went to his company picnic. (I still struggle with not saying ‘our’ company picnic..as I used to work there too!)

Anyway. It was at the All American Derby Downs! We raced soap box derby cars and it was a blast!

There I am .. ‘The Knitster’ ready to roll!

Here is Brian ‘Streetfire’ at the starting line..

He looks pretty relaxed over in the far lane!

We both didn’t do too badly! As you can see I was close all the way down! They thought I had won.. but the big guy in lane 3 beat me by a bit!
Brian came in second too. Ahh well It was fun! Makes me want to go out to get car kits for the kids and get em racing.. who knows maybe the company will sponser them! Or mabye I can get some yarn company sponser for Azia!! hehe ‘The Little Knitster’
(she just finished knitting up a little toy mouse for the kittens. I will try to get a picture of it later!)

Can they sense it?

I went to the teacher store last night. I was looking for some Handwriting Without Tears materials for the kids to do some extra practice with their handwriting. When I walked in the clerk was very friendly. All was well.. I went back into the store and there were a few teachers there looking at bulletin board sets and cutsie calendars. I started looking at the handwriting stuff and I had this..itchy twitchy feeling. I turned slightly and looked and they all seemed to be looking at me with those laser beam eyes.. you know kinda like the look of death.. WOW.. now I know my hair wasn’t like perfect because I had the window in the car open on the way down.. I had a clean shirt on.. what was it? Do they have some kinda Spidey-teacher sense that they can detect a homeschooler? I mean yikes! It was pretty scary!

I didn’t find what I needed and asked the clerk, who again was most helpful.. and since they didn’t carry what I wanted I moved on to the teacher store across town. Where I was greeted by my friend and sometimes softball ‘coach’ and I got one thing on my list! Rock and Learn Math..hehe More later when I find the cable to download pics from my phone!

She had me at Noro..

From my One Skein angel…

“I’m glad I was given another person to pamper. I really wasn’t ready for the One Skein SP to end. …I know they said one skein, but i wanted you to feel loved after having missed out….”

Shut up! Just shut up! You had me at Noro!!

hehe

Unfortunately I . . . → Read More: She had me at Noro..

I hate to send it in!!

But I have to! The test knit is done.. Next up all the things I should have blogged about over the weekend but didn’t cause I was so busy doing them!!!

Katrina 1 year later..

I can’t believe it has been a year.  Pearlington MS is pretty much the same as it was a year ago. Debris covered and devoid of a plan and hope. I will have an update on Purls of Hope very soon.

Again they will be on the CNN show American Morning. August 29 Please watch. There are some plans being made to send another wave of help to Pearlington. The main problem being that the FEMA trailers that took 6 months for most residents to get are going to be taken away in Febuary.

Please see the Purls of Hope site as I will keep you posted on the plans! We need to get these people some houses!
