The smell of victory..
Well I am almost done with the test knit for SWTC. It’s been nice. The Phoenix yarn is a pleasure to work with. Everyone who has seen me working on it has commented how beautiful it is.

There was one little surprise though. As soon as I got it wet to block it I found that it gave an odor.. not unpleasent.. it reminded me of Japan.. I made my husband smell it and told him now he knows what it smells like in Japan! That just proves that it is definitely made of soy!!
It also turns out that the base board of the pack n play makes a great blocking board!! Who knew!?
On to a new and hush hush project. Just got some yarn last night at the store.. They were so pleasant in email helping me to figure out what they had in stock.. but again, in person, I was made to feel like I was inconvieniencing them by entering there store and asking questions and disturbing their conversation. This is why I usually go to the other store..
Anyway.. I won’t be posting anything about the new project.. but I will be playing around with the new Ruffles yarn from Lion brand and the new Romance yarn from Lion brand since they sent me a nice goody box full of yarn and other goodies. I will be posting a tutorial on my Lion Blog about how to use the Ruffles yarn on the looms and probably using the Romance yarn to make a one skein project for my one skein pal! So on to cleaning and knitting.. I have deadlines to meet!

Cross patch..
Sit by the fire and spin.;
Take a cup,
And drink it up,
Then call your neighbours in…
—Mother Goose
That red bit you see on the bobbin.. not my first spinning. That is a little treadle practice.. and I need a redo.
Here is my first spinning..
aren’t you impressed?I better get some practice because in that box is some lovely scarlett flax roving from the Copper Moose..
I am almost halfway done with my test knit for SWTC.. This Phoenix yarn is very nice to work with!
I like it! (google it if ya want more info I am too lazy to put in a link today) I was going to ask for some fiber as payment but I think I might just get some of the Phoenix and make one of these tops for myself! In sad news.. my upstream One Skein pal dropped out.. It seems she got burned by her pal and it was the straw that broke the camels back..having been the third time it happened to her..leaving me in the lurch. Well now.. it’s my third time…

If you give your wife an area rug..
She will look at the room it is intended for and ramble in total jibberish…
Then she might take everything out of the room ..
Scrub the floor by hand..
And then she will look at the walls.. She will think.. these walls need some paint..So she will paint them..
Then she will put down the lovely new area rug..Sort all those kids toys and put things back in order..Then the kids will come in and play..
and she will ramble in total jibberish…

Assembly Language..*
Ahhh.. let’s see.. what was in that box anyway? Oh my Louet S17 spinning wheel kit!
This is.. the IKEA equivalent in spinning wheels.. Made in Holland and sold all over the world they have to have those infamous picture instructions complete with a photo page with each group of hardware pieces laid out for a group shot and numbered for each step.. It would help if the photos were clear.. these however are a little fuzzy..

In any case. I have decided on a clear semi gloss lacquer finish for now so I am almost ready to put this baby together.
Then I get to take it for a whirl!
Wish me luck!*I wonder how many unsuspecting computer programmers I will pick up with that title..hehhehe
