Knitting Without Needles

Well I would show you some progress or knitting shots but I think you would be completely bored, as the only thing I can actually show you is that red top that I am working on. Since I am in the middle of knitting the 14 inches of stockingette with a few decreases and increases it’s really VERY boring.. and so I won’t.

I have been playing with my flower loom, and spending way too much of my mad money on Ebay and Destash.. But since I am down to my don’t spend below level that will stop!

I got to do a bit of a technical support call with my Mother this morning. Her CD Rom drive died and we saved her a boat load of money by fixing it over the phone and not having her take it to the computer shop! She is most happy. I loved doing tech support at DRB and would go back to that job in a minute, and probably will if the opportunity arises and I need or want a day job. But for now I will knit on!

I have been up off and on all night with one critter or another.. mostly this one..

I am going to be a bit busy the next few days. She has to keep this thing on for two weeks! But her ear is looking good.. yeah trust me it does.. and her doggie pain meds seem to be working. So I will launch into my 14 inches of stockingnette on my project I just started over.. with bouts of other stuff thrown in.. most of it is hush hush so I will try to get some cute pictures of the kids to entertain you!

Kansas asked what I am making. I am test knitting a shell top in a new cotton linen blend yarn for Knit Picks. This yarn is very nice I like it. I swatched, with size 7 needles (the pattern calls for 8s but the yarn is a little on the lighter side than the pattern yarn.)

It looked like I had gauge, the row gauge was off, which can be adjusted for; so I jumped in. I got through six inches of knitting, through the little lace motif part and then 4 inches of stockingette and then I measured.. it is

WIDE..

So I have started over.I already measured and it’s spot on.. on size 6 needles!

My poor doggie has a bad ear.. I noticed last night when I gave her a bath that her one ear flap was blown up like a balloon! Brian talked to the vet and it turns out this is a common problem. They get an ear infection, then a blood vessel in the ear bursts, and drains into the ear. So she will need surgery. She goes in at 3 today to get looked at and schedule it. I ask.. how exactly does one spot an ear infection in a dog? I am clueless!

Ahh and some eye candy.. I won these on Ebay last night!!

 They are to replace my 6 year old worn out pair.. I have been watching and waiting for a pair to come up! And I got them..my precious..
