Or why we got a heavy duty, large capacity washing machine! It’s just too bad that I just ran out of laundry detergent…can I borrow a cup? The week after next is our lovely week of state testing. So we have been going over testing skills. So in honor of testing week I give you a multiple choice question..choose the best answer: WHY is Denise Happy today? a.) She has over half of her KnitPicks knit done and will make the deadline. b.) She finally got herself a pressing pad to use as a blockingboard, so she doesn’t have to use a big plain old chunk of cardboard any more (and got it for half price). c.) Her husband has a new job which means he will work at home, make more money and hopefully be a bit happier with his work situation. d.)She just put a birthday card in the mail for her nephew which marks the first of many birthday cards to family members that will be a.)sent, and b.) at least close to being on time! e.) All of the above. Please mark your answers carefully and be sure you have answered all questions before turning in your test answer sheet. Thank you and have a nice day. My Dear Fellow OHVA Parents, I just wanted to write to you and express my thanks. You must know that is was with some apprenension that I found myself driving into the city, to a museum and not really knowing where it was.. and it was in the city.. and surprising myself that I found . . . → Read More: Vini, Vidi, Parki Please go watch this fashion show.. it’s quite fascinating..I don’t reccomend it if you have dial up though! I got a little cone of Habu stainless steel and wool. I have been wanting to try out Habu textiles for a long time, and this ‘fantasy cash’ well it just opened the door. Its going to be fun to play with. Like knitting with wire that is wearable!
I have all kinds of visions of neat little projects dancing in my head. With the way this yarn can be ‘sculpted after it is knit up is just interesting to me! And I just love the looks on peoples faces when I tell them I am knitting with strange fibers.. What are you knitting with there? Oh stainless steel.. *insert stunned silence* I also got a niddy noddy, so I can make some better skeins of my handspun and measure up my recycled yarns. And mistakenly got a 24″ size 3 circular when what I meant to get was a 60″ one! Oh well. The big dissapointment of the day was that I found a vendor with one of those ‘circular soulutions’ things to keep your circular needles in, but then while waiting in line discovered that they were SELLING printouts of free patterns from online yarn sites.. so I put it down and walked away. I should have said something, but I needed to get back up stairs for my second class so I didn’t. I survived my first loom and board knitting classes as a teacher! They went well, my students were great! My original class project designs were to say the least.. ambitious. So we improvised a bit. In the end everyone was shown and a least learned, or got a feel for the basics which is what . . . → Read More: I’ve got class! |
