I am hosting Yarnival!!!
What isYarnival you ask? It is an online blog carnival celebrating all things yarn! Its where you all nominate fiber arts related blog posts that you find interesting, funny educational.. or just downright weird and I pick a whole bunch of them to highlight in one place! So keep your eyes and ears open and if you find a blog entry, podcast or other interesting item of note on the web that has to do with the love of yarn then submit it!!! The links are over on my left sidebar!! You can also look at the current ‘edition’ of Yarnival and past editions!!! I want to see some great submissions!! I am a sucker for a new blog!! So send them in!! Go ahead break my inbox I dare you!!!
For now it’s back to my duties this week as music director of vacation Bible school at our church!! Busy week!!

The Patons Kroy Sock is back up.. (the orange is not available) For $4 each. It takes two balls to make a pair of socks for the average adult! Let me know what you want and I will work out the postage, or if you buy a loom and sock yarn the yarn is just packing material! I prefer paypal but I cna make other arrangements if you like! If we make arrangements through Paypal I can get this packed up and sent out today or tommorow at my loverly 24 hour USPS kiosk!! (for US shipping anyway!)

(I just don’t have a child that small!)

Knifty Knitter Swing Jacket Pattern!
The Swing Jacket Pattern is ready!!
Shown here is Sue’s Swing Jacket with 3/4 length sleeves! She used only a little more than 2 skeins of Bernat Soft Boucle, with a single strand, to make her sample in size X-large! I think it just looks great on her!

My original sample, in the medium size,(shown below) is made with 2 skeins of Lion Brand Homespun, and I had about two yards of yarn left after seaming it up!
So here are the details:
Materials:
· Yellow Knifty Knitter loom or other large gauge loom with minimum of 41 pegs.
· 350-600 yards of Bulky Weight Yarn of your choice. XS, S&M need 350-370 yards for short sleeve version; L&XL will need up to 550 yards for short sleeve version.
· Knitting Tool
· Tapestry Needle
Gauge:
2 stitches, and 3 rows per inch.
Sizes:
XS(S, M, L, XL) Bust measurement 28-30(32-34, 36-38, 40-42, 44-46) There are directions in the pattern for customizing the fit and length of the sweater. If you need to make a size larger than stated simply follow the custom size directions and use the XL directions for the armholes and sleeves. And don’t forget to add on another ball of yarn so you don’t run out! Hey if you don’t use it you can always return it!

The sleeves are nicely fitted.. no more baggy loose drop sleeves here; and directions are given for customizng the Jacket size, length, and sleeve style! Knit it up in cap sleeve, short sleeve, elbow length, or long!! Make it how you want it!! Internet links to tutorials for techniques used are in the pattern so you can just click on the links and go to the sites that will help you!! Wear it down pin it up, this Jacket is a great versatile piece!!! And it sure kept me warm in church on Sunday!!

A Plesant Day All Around
This has been quite a pleasant day! The weather is perfect.. we have been enjoying the visit from my sister in law and her two boys.. I got a package with a bit of yarn in it, and my test knitter Sue is AWSOME!
Check this out! The Swing Jacket looks soo good on her! She started it on Monday and all she has left is the sleeves!

I couldn’t be more pleased. So after another once over, and adding some photos and diagrams tonight I should have this pattern out for you all tomorrow! And I will draw a name from my commenters on Saturday’s post for a kit which will include the pattern and the yarn needed for them to make the jacket for themselves!! So there is still time to comment, and get in the drawing!!! I will probably draw a name around 9 am tomorrow so get your comment in by then if you want to win!Plus I learned something new I want to try out on the looms! Totally fun!! Can’t wait!
