A Drive up the Coast
Today we drove up the coast of O’ahu. It is a beautiful place! Our first stop was Pele Point. The site of an epic battle between King Kamehameha and the kings of the other islands waged to unite the islands under his rule.
We spotted a geocache box while we were there for letter boxers! Nice find!!
Next stop a very nice beach at Waimea Beach Park. It was very scenic!
Brian had a load of fun jumping off the big rock there. I just stayed on shore and documented the fun.
We stopped at a macadamia nut orchard had a nice snack of macadamia nuts and found the Kauloa Ranch, where they film LOST and other shows like Jurrasic Park. The plan is to go back on Saturday for a horseback tour of the ranch.
I found a few other LOST filming sites.. it’s a fun little scavenger hunt, I will put that all in one post..
More Later! Aloha!

Waikiki
Aloha!
Just got back from Waikiki. Brian got a nice board burn from trying out surfing. He got me on the board but I think we were just comic relief for everyone else at the beach. It was fun!

What’s better than a box of yarn from Canada?
A knit hat from England!!
Knit by Wooly Wormhead! She was having a sale of her sample hats and I couldn’t resist! Boy it came fast.. I don’t think I will be taking it to Hawaii with me..but I have been walking around like a supermodel with it on around the house since I got it!
I’ll have to show you all a picture later!
Very nice… and if you haven’t checked out her book, please do!
Off to wrap up loose ends and get ready to go. Grandma is about halfway here so backup is on it’s way!
So I will talk to you later!!
A hui hou!

It’s a good day..
When a box of pretty yarn from Canada lands on your doorstep..
Ok, it was actually stuffed into my mailbox, and it took me about 5 minutes to wiggle it out!
But it was worth it!
Off to work on packing! Jeepers.. only one more day left till HAWAII!!!!!

Have another look at the I-cord Tutorial!
I wanted to pull up the I-cord tutorial for you all again as it is used for two of my sweater projects that are featured in the new Loom Knitting Pattern Book
.
You can find and download the free tutorial by just clicking here!
Print yourself out a copy to tuck in the book, and you will have a little extra resource as you work! For full disclosure the I-cord cast on instructions were erroneously left out when the book went into print so here is the text that should be in the pattern notes of both patterns:
I-cord cast on: Make an I-cord the number of rows directed in your pattern. Hold the I-cord behind the pegs of the loom, and parallel to the base of the loom. Using the knitting tool, lift one leg of the stitch on the first row of the 1-cord up and onto a peg from behind. Work up one row on the I-cord, lifting stitches from the I-cord onto the loom. Work two rows of the I-cord, skip one and work two more. Continue in this manner until the desired number of stitches has been cast onto the loom.
You might want to highlight that text, right click on it and print selection and tuck that in your book as well! These things happen but not to fear, we have it covered!
I will be working on an publications page that will have pdf’s of the errata from my books so look for a new tab to pop up over the next few days!
