Bookish Thursday: Low Sew, No Sew.. twist my arm!

Today’s book is a bit off topic but let me tell you it is my kind of book.

See my sewing machine there? Tucked UNDER the stash? Yeah there is a reason for that. It is there because we just don’t get along. The lady at Sears says it’s because I didn’t buy the Kenmore replacement needles. I’m not sure. But for whatever reason, we do not play on the same team!

So when I was offered the book Simply Sublime Bags: 30 No-Sew, Low-Sew Projects  by  Jodi Kahn, from my wonderful new contact at Potter Craft I said YES MA’AM!

I LOVE  this book!

I made this while simultaneously thumbing my nose at my sewing machine! It’s that easy!  (ok.. well I made it…. er… a bit upside down; but I like it!)

If I had to describe this book in one word it would be CLEVER! or perhaps GENIUS! or CRAFTILICIOUS!

Jodi Kahn’s brain is one of the ones I would love to just mind meld with! I mean who thinks of using Monopoly money to make a checkbook cover or Tootsie Roll wrappers to make a clutch?

Yeah, it’s like that! FUN!!

I’m always up for a good read — especially a thrifty (make that free) read!

I’d sure wouldn’t mind diving into that book. I know I won’t have but a minute here and a minute there for the next 16-18 years, but eventually it’d get read (I think).

At least someone gave you a reason why you and the sewing machine don’t get along. I have a silent truce with mine, and always expect that it will not be cooperative when I need to use it.

No need to enter me in the book drawing. I’ll make a note about reading it however. :-)

Okay, I’m just commenting because I think you are my long lost sister!!! My sewing machine won’t play nice either. So we are sisters, or I have the evil twin to your sewing machine ;D

(Goes off to look for a copy of that No sewie book…)
