  • O Christmas Tree…

Date: 2008.12.20 | Category: Knitting Without Needles | Response: 0

The older two kids and I spent the morning at a homeless shelter volunteering. They do some good work there. We will be going back in February to do the same.. just setting up and serving a meal then helping clean up.. We also decorated some placemats for Christmas for the people who come in.  Not much…but every little bit helps!

When we got back home, we went out again to find our tree. We found a good one!!

    Caleb set it up himself!

Last night I was at a Christmas party given for the volunteers at our church’s kid’s club. My friend Wendy was there, and after a while she pulled something out of her pocket..

Well I was surprised to see that she had brought the ORIGINAL socks from my book, Learn to Knit on Circle Looms! I gave them to her 3 years ago when the publisher send the pieces back to me. I couldn’t wear them as they were too big for me!

It is so nice to see her so fond of them that she carries them with  her when she thinks she might need them!!

I was blushing and grinning from ear to ear all at the same time!!

Of course, there were about 5 requests for knit socks made too! Looks like I might be busy!

Back tomorrow with those tips on Japanese knitting books… I hope!

WOW! How have I missed this yarn so far! I LOVE IT!!

It is so smooshy, and soft and warm!

It is easy to work with and the colors are beautiful!!

I have started a Maja wrap from the latest Knitty, and it is also a fun pattern. Thought I seem to keep adding extra increases.. But I put that little blue yarn bow on the right side to help eliminate that! Also the pattern is pretty forgiving so I have been able to fudge it a little to compensate for my extra stitches!

    Maja wrap

So far so good. Tomorrow morning though, I pick up a loom! Got a lil’ stitch pattern to try out! Plus I need to dig around for some longer needles for this one!

Paying the bills…
