There were a few small things I needed to replace, and at least one goodie I likes and got.. There were also a few things I didn’t get because the vendors were out! But I plan to get them! Along with the yarn from Briar Rose I got a great button. I plan to pull a Kohler of knitting and ‘knit a sweater around this button!’ Which is kinda funny because as I was looking through them someone in the booth said.. ‘What would you buy a button then knit a sweater around it?’ I giggled. Then a little sheep measuring tape and a needle gauge to replace mine. I got those from the Carodan Farm booth. Nice people! You will remember my vintage wrap was made from their worsted yarn! They were delighted to see that I was wearing their yarn! (oooh looks like they are having a knitting retreat!) An Addi needle so I can actually make the Morehouse Merino Fiddlehead scarf that I bought a kit for last year. And just how do I ask could I resist those Lobster Mitts? OI! I think they might just be my travel knitting when I head to Vegas next week! I wanted to get some snap closures for a little quick knit bag but the vendor had run out of them so I am working on getting them by email! Azia got some more needle felting supplies, she always manages to get me to spend some money on her!
If you are having trouble seeing the slideshow simply click on View all Images and it will take you right to it on the slide site! Sorry! Yep you all just come here for the yarn.. I know… So here is my haul from Rhinebeck. Some Tahki Creole out of a few bib boxes of ‘vintage’ yarn. I intended to make myself a Luxe tunic with this..
but I don’t know if it is enough yarn We will see it might become another sweater that I can wear against my skin!! Like Tubey!! Now we come to the obligatory Briar Rose purchase.. I keep buying their yarn, and knitting with it.. ripping it out and then setting it aside.. not that I don’t like it. I just need to find the perfect project I think.. But I love it!! I saved the best for last.. Please.. just don’t tell my husband how much I spent on this little gem.
I decided it was time for me to get myself some luxury yarn! I am also hoping that it will be all it is supposed to be: very warm With emphasis on the last point!! Next up the notions, and Azia’s haul of course!! Well trying to get back into the swing of things here. So I thought I would let you know who had the closest guess in the Guess hw many ends contest! Drum roll please!!!! KANSAS!! She guessed 132, and the actual amoung was 155.. This ought to make up a little for my giggling over her coffee vs. computer incident! Don’t let that daunting amount of ends scare you away when the project is finally revealed.. I am probably just a messy knitter! Back to the bounty of Rhinebeck tommorrow. I have to pack up my spinning wheel today and get it ready to go to it’s new owner! We were on our way home from Rhinebeck when we got the call. My sister in law’s older brother took his life. My family and her family have known each other all our lives.. I can’t remember not knowing them.. He has been struggling with issues since he was young. I am just so sad that it has ended like this. I have already started a prayer shawl for his mom, who has been one of my ‘extra’ moms for a long time! Please keep the Stevenson family in your prayers. |
