Crock Pots and Cables..

I love my crock pot! It has got to be one of the best inventions out there!! Why do I love my crock pot.. cause I have more time to knit! I also love free yarn.. free yarn means freedom! You can mess with it, and it doesn’t matter if you mess up! It was free! You can play around with it, experiement.. it’s like having a knitting grant!
So what do you get when you mix my crock pot with some free yarn! Cables of course!
I had a little fun trying to do cables on my fine gauge toddler sock loom. I was making a little coffee cup cozy.
Well here is the result. You can’t see them too well in the picture, but hey they don’t look too good so that’s ok!
My cup cozy!

Also you see some progress there on the *gasp* needles. The fishy dishy discloth is coming along when worked on at the Canton Stitch n’ B* knitting group. (I finally got there tonight!)

When my hands started cramping from the needle knitting,I pulled out my small gauge adult sock loom, and started turning the heel on my slipper sock! Finally something for me!!

Slippers for me!!

Well they were intrigued. They were very interested in how the loom worked, and I showed them how. One of them even asked for the DA website address so she could get one.
So hey who knows, mabye there will be some more knitting loom knitters out there!

Well I have to get some more crock pot dinners lined up, I need to perfect the cable ideas! I have most of a bag full of free yarn to experiment with! 😉

I’m a crock-potter too. Tonight, pork chops and potatoes. Mmmmm. But, no knitting to go with it. Maybe tomorrow…
Denise, I love your blog and the pics of your wips. Thanks for sharing!

It’s a crockpot night for us, too.

    Great job on the cables!

Free yarn is great, but I just finished a pair of slipper socks from free yarn. The cuffs, heels and toes are all in a contrasting color and it looks fabulous. Unfortunately, the yarn has absolutely no stretch, so there is not a person in my family who can wear them. 🙁
