Passionatly Dissapointed

We went to see the new Star Wars movie on Thursday night. So if you havn’t seen it.Please.. don’t read the rest of this.. otherwise concider yourself warned.

The movie was alright. It was sort of like watching a rerun as you pretty much knew what was going to happen.

The opening scenes practically made me dizzy with all that action going on! It was wild.

Everything seemed to fit. They seemed to be doing a good job of wrapping things up, showing how Annakin turns to the dark side. Showing how the Jedi were nearly wiped out. Showing how the emperor took over.

Now let me tell you, I have never been convinced by Christian Hayden’s acting that the character Annakin really loved Padme.. the vibes just never got there. The sparks never flew, there was no chemistry there. This was dissapointing. So it was a little less than convincing that he would turn to the dark side to save her. This was also dissapointing.

The point of no return for me was when George Lucas had the gall to rewrite Star Wars history. When he thought he could sneak something by without us noticing without even batting an eyelid.

He had Padme die in childbirth. WRONG! Yes admittedly she does have to die. That is in the story, but NOT in childbirth! Leah stated that she remembered her mother. Luke asks here specifically about it in Return of the Jedi. Now I may be more sensitive to this than some.. being adopted I REALLY identified with the character of Leah and that she HAD spent time with her mother little as it may be.. she KNEW her!! It sruck a chord.
I think that the movie theatre attendants probably thought I was crazy as I stormed out of the theatre after the movie ranting and teary eyed! I was livid! I was soo mad Brian made me walk it off before we got to the car. (and stopped for some Ben& Jerry’s on the way home!)

I mean I am just stalk George Lucas kick him in the shins and stand on the lumps mad! YOU CAN’T ERASE A PERSONS MIND AS EASILY AS C3PO Mr. Lucas!!! Shame on you!

  1. So not worth watching…hmmm, well, since I have never seen the others, I guess I am not missing much, but Bryant does like Joda (sp) the little green man he calls it.
Although I have not seen the movies, I agree with you–they can’t erase a person’s mind that easily. Hey, this reminds me of the movie The Forgotten, have you seen it?
    Hugs,
    I
