The other stuff

Well now that I am done berading myself for messing up I can tell you what else I have been up to.

I got my prize from Jane in the mail yesterday! Yippee.. I have no earthly idea what I am going to do with this stuff! The Kid Slique from Prism yarns is awsome! Its pretty, its soft, it’s warm there’s only one skein.. yikes! I was wearing it on my head like a crown yesterday. It fit so nice.

There was a nice little parcel of beads in there as well. I like those.

I also finally put in an order with Janette. Yep.. what it’s been a year that I have waited this out, and with my dismal performance in her latest contests , an order is the only way I was going to get anything from her!!
I ordered some Debbie Bliss Cathay in teal to make a Tivoli T, and an Addi needle to aid in making some stash buster scarves longways. She’s also working on getting me the longest Addi Turbo they make in US #3, 120cm, so I can work on my Strawberry pie shawl!! My secret pal has forever spoiled me an nothing but Addi’s will do!

I also ordered this:

I will need some nice wool or something to knit these with mabye some Casscade yarns or I think the patterns mainly call for Lamb’s Pride worsted weight.

So those are the two things, along with my secret pal’s super reveal present that I was waiting to buy with my booklet money. But the scarf pattern sold enough copies to actually cover most of the cost for my items! So I am scoping out swifts on Ebay! Got to have the tools to wind the yarn up!

  1. Glad you liked the yarn and beads. I do know the challenges of knitting with only one skein but you know that’s my style–mix it up like mad! I’m writing a pattern now for a knitted necklace/belt/scarf combo which uses only one skein of everything. That kid slique would probably work wonders for something like that. Jane

  2. Jess’ book is really super!

  3. I’m going to have LOTS of suggestions for those single skeins coming up soon on my blog and through other routes. I guess I’m kind of a ‘one skein’ person as I can’t remember the last time I bought multiples of anything. I went yarn shopping in NYC and bought nothing but single skeins–yikes!

    Interesting-looking book. Fun!
