Bookish Thursday: It Girl Knits

A little over two years ago, I was introduced to an up and coming teen designer Phoenix Bess. She impressed me greatly, and I ended up doing a sample knit for her of one of her designs. Back then, she paid in yarn. Today I doubt that is the case.

After having several designs published in various knitting magazine, Phoenix has published a book of her own! I am very excited.

Full of fresh fun designs  It Girl Knits  is the go to book for young knitters, or knitters who are looking for patterns to make for fashion savvy young women.

It Girl Knits

Phoenix shows off her excellent fashion sense, combined with her love of knitting in this volume. The book itself is laid out very well, with ‘It Girl Style Secrets’ peppered throughout to clue you in on what to wear with these designs, and finishing touches that can make them even better! The photos are  bright and cheerful,  and Phoenix models even her own designs on the cover, and here and there in the book!

A small detail, this book while soft cover, still has end flaps that come in handy as book marks! I love that!!

All in all I ( and my daughter) give two thumbs up for a beautiful, fun, fashionable knitting book! I look forward  to seeing more from this fresh young designer in the future!!

And if you are interested and in the area The Knitting Basket in Richmond will be hosting a book signing on October 25th.  So you can go meet Phoenix in person!!
