I Need a New Hobby, Right?

All three of my expected packages came today! A vintage Amish made loom, which Julian and I will convert into a twining loom. The next was pre-cut fabric strips. The last, a book of projects!

Can’t wait to get started! Julian and I are also making a smaller version of the loom from some scrap wood that we have had laying around outside!! Jules was excited to help his mom use the power tools!!

This is all due to the massive amount of fabric I was given last year by a Freecycler! I have to use it somehow and this seemed like a really good way to do it! I could use a rug or ten around here!

The book is Twist and Twine: 18 Ideas for Rag Rugs and Home Decor by Bobbie Irwin, and I had also borrowed  Twined Rag Rugs also by her from the library. They are both great resources if you are interested in learning about twined weaving!
