Paying the bills…

I use this and love it!

I get free stuff with SwagBucks!

I seem to be going backwards..

Wow.. just how long can jet lag get a person? I seem to be headed back into California time rather than out of it!

Of course that late night at the hospital probably didn’t help any..after we got back though it got worse!

Brian sprained his ankle on the steps.. rather badly. So a late night got even later. Helping get him ice and such.

Poor guy. He is still hurting!

Needless to say we slept in the next morning. That is until the doorbell rang..

You guessed it. It was the neighbor with the dog.

She was actually quite reasonable. I was totally not able to get down there to talk to her, Brian did. I felt like a jelly fish and had no voice. Anyway. Seems time has cooled things off a bit and she gave us the bill for the vet which is extremely reasonable ( I need to look into that vet!) and just left it at that.

The worst thing is that her daughter, who had recently made great strides in her fear of dogs, is now fearful again. That was my worst fear.. and I feel very badly about it.

I will consult with my cousin who is a vet, and see if there is anything she can reccomend as far as curbing Rudy’s aggressiveness. Rudy is nearly 8 so she is headed over the crest of the hill.. and is showing signs of slowing down in many ways but she still has that ‘protect the nest’ attitude that gets her in trouble.

Well anyway.. any thought of anyone who has experience in this are welcome!

For now one of my favourite shots from vacation…

If you want to see more Brian has them up on his Facebook account; just click here. (you have to have a Facebook account to see it though! Sorry to those who don’t!)

Dog-nab-it

Ahh.. such a nice peaceful scene… this is my dog 99% of the time…

You wouldn’t think that such a nice quiet peaceful doggie would be trouble.. but she is with a capital T that other 1% of the time!!!

Right after I pulled out of the parking spot at Lofty Lou’s out in Placerville I got a call. There had been and incident with Rudy. She had pulled out of the dog sitter’s hand; ran straight over to the neighbors yard, and nipped their dog. This is the second time she has had an incident of this kind with another dog.. and both were dogs of the same neighbor. The other one was about 5 years ago.. so I have been working very hard to keep peace with the neighbor and my dog..We will see what happens.. she called the police in this time. I have no idea what to expect. So far it has been pretty quiet..

The other pet news is that we are down one kitten.. one of them didn’t make it through the second week. The remaining two are just sooo cute! And seem to be perfectly healthy. I’ll get some gratuitous kitten shots to share with you later today.. that is if my camera is working.. the LCD screen went bad sometime during the TSA screening.. that’s 3 right.. nothing else can go wrong now!

Yarn Shopping on Vacation!

We were driving through this little western town and Dad wanted to show us the ‘old main street’ section… as we started in  he started saying.. oh now it’s too dry for sheep out here.. so don’t look for any yarn shops! No sooner had he said that when we passed this…

HAHA the joke was on him! He had to eat his words and even turned around and stopped so I could go in. As Azia and I were walking up the yarn shop owner was heading out to get her lunch. She let us in anyway.. the shop had no power either!! So there we were.. like a fox in the hen house! What fun. It is a darling little shop and they have a whole lot of beautiful knitting bags! Which was great because I needed to replace my Lantern Moon small silk taffeta bag.

And check out the mural on the side of the shop!

Too cute there are even two shop cats to greet you out on the porch! So if you are ever in Placerville.. stop by and enjoy!

Of course it was after I got back in the car that we got a call with a bit of bad news from home…..more later…

Vacation Knitting

Well I havn’t told you all about my vacation knitting! I brought a few projects with me to keep me busy on these drives from place to place.. but sadly last night I ran out of yarn on the one project!

I am one and a half rows away from the 576 stitch section of the Pi shawl! Boy that increas row would have occupied me well during one of the legs of our plane trip tommorrow. sigh..

My neice showed me her loom knitting.

She is working on a scarf on the red loom I gave her. She has a copy of my book too but I can tell she didn’t really read it.. because she is working in the opposite direction that I show in the book! sigh…

I do have a little yarn left I will probably make a few fiddle faddle stars on the flight back to keep me busy! There was a guess on the mystery location #2.. LAKE TAHOE and just in case you didn’t recognise my loomy friend in the picture it is none other than Lynn Markman!

Next.. vacation yarn shopping!
