Cable Sweater Rowan

(and it fits..Phew)

The Specs.

Pattern: Cable Sweater from Rowan Scottish Impressions (or it was sent to Rowan members as a single pattern a few years back!)

Yarn: Rowan Yorkshire Tweed Chunky 10 skeins, 100% wool, 109 yds, color 550 (discontinued)

Modifications..I used Yorkshire Tweed Chunky, rather than the Scottish Tweed Chunky that the pattern called for. Also, I did make the collar a bit shorter than called for in the pattern.

I give it 2 thumbs up!! Thanks Luann for help getting this pattern! (I can’t believe your little guy is so big already!!)

The pattern is easy to follow, and once you get into the groove of the cables you can just follow them visually and not use the chart! Which makes it great easy take it with you knitting.. (except for the size..)

I really like the fancy rib pattern, I think I will do a tutorial on it for knitting looms as it is a great way to spruce up an edging on a hat!

This yarn was great to work with. I like it alot, and from what I understand it is very much like the yarn called for the Scottish tweed, so I imagine that is nice to work with too! (though a little pricey at 15$ a ball!) I won the yarn for the sweater from one of Jannette’s infamous contests back two years ago.. about time I got it out of my stash!
