I recently found a new easy way to get cash back from items I buy at the grocery store!
It’s an app called Ibotta.
Ibotta is a new app for smartphone* users that rewards you with cash back on your grocery purchases!
If you have a smartphone, head over to Ibotta and sign up to get started! Bonus – through Friday (1/11/13) you can earn a $5 bonus when you sign up!
Once you’ve downloaded the app, You simply browse the offers and choose the ones you want to use!
You will be asked to take a survey, answer a trivia question, learn a fact or possibly watch a video or post on Facebook. These are all automated, and fast little activities, that take about 10-20 seconds! So they are great to do any time you have a little time on your hands! Waiting in line, waiting for your coffee to brew.. ya know those little moments when you have nothing to do..
Then once you have the offers lined up you buy the item, the EXACT item (size flavor etc) at the store.
That is a bit of a tricky part, but if you have the item in hand at the store and you are unsure if it is the right one you can scan the bar code and it will tell you if it matches the offer! Genius!! (see that little bar code button on the Simply Orange product screen up there.. that’s the one that’ll do that!)
Once you have bought the items you take a photo of your receipt, and submit it after choosing the offers that apply on that receipt!
Then… drum roll…. they send you money! You can have it sent to your PayPal account, or you can choose a school to donate to!
So far in the first week I have earned.. $20.75!! Not bad! I also combined the items on Ibotta offers with sales and coupons to get quite a few of the items for free in the end! Not shabby!
For each offer you complete, they’ll send you a new one. You can also refer friends and earn $1 for each friend that signs up! Just use the “invite friends†section of the app.
Remember, the $5 Bonus ends on Friday, so sign up now! After you sign up, you’ll have until Thursday, January 17th at midnight (PST) to redeem your first offer and receive the $5 bonus.
*it seems that this is not out for Windows phones yet.. so I ended up getting my mom all excited for nothing!!
