Catching up! Mystery location #2

Well you all know the general area that we are in so this one should be easy.See if you can guess our second ‘touristy’ location..

It took about a three hour drive to get there..

Look out smoke!! Looks like there was a forest fire here recently!

SOOO not looking over the edge.. that shot is from the van window!!!

We fell for this place from the moment we pulled up!! Caleb took it literally..

Pioneer Woman’s little girl punks can drive those big pickup trucks.. but my girl seems to have an affinity for power boats!

Check her out!

Also I met up with a loom knitting celebrity who lives nearby!(more on this later!)

So any guesses?? Anyone anyone?? There could be some fibery goodness in your future if you are the first to guess…

Yosemite Sam!

Well Debbie and Jennifer are both right! (ya’ll have to email me your contact info so I can send you something fibery when I get back!

We are in Northern California, and were at Yosemite! It is so beautiful there! The Big Trees are the Calaveras Big Trees a state park. It is very . . . → Read More: Yosemite Sam!

Clue numba two! Simply amazed…

I stand amazed at the awsomeness of God’s creation!

Some days I feel so small and insignifigant…

But I know that He always holds us in His hands…

The clues!!

The first clue is that where I was, was not in internet or cel phone range so there was no chance of posting!!!

Ok the real clues.. we had to fly!

I got some knitting done in flight. My fiddle faddle star from Knitter’s Almanac.. but the book was in the cargo compartment so, it turned . . . → Read More: The clues!!

We’re Here…. Where are we??

Travel is never without its adventures.. and this is certainly true of us. Our day started out a 4 a.m. and me sneaking around our neighbors back yard like a cat burglar trying to catch our cat who had snuck out when the boys went down to get in the van. We gave chase as long as we could and had to give up leaving our garage door a crack open so she could come back in (and she did).

On to the airport…

NOW I know my kids can be little terrors.. but terrorists no!! No way! Well I didn’t think so… till they started running Jaxom’s bag through the scanner repeatedly…..

Guess who had forgotten to check out his carry on bag before we left…

anyone?

anyone?

Buehler????

ME!

He had packed his plastic cap gun in his carry on because he wanted to show it to his cousins..

Thankfully they simply confiscated it and the REALLLYY nice TSA officer with a sense of humor.. smiled a bit as he told us. (I’m thinking he has kids)

After that things went smoothly and we are here. Safe and sound, and off to our first ‘touristy’ adventure after relaxing and visiting with my brother and his family… now for those of you who do not know where I am.. I will give you a little guessing game starting tomorrow..

I think there will have to be a fibery prize!

Chao for now!

Multiply your talents

Anyone who has read the New Testament will be familiar with the parable of the talents. This landowner/boss gives three of his trusted  servants the some talents (a unit of money) one of them takes the money and invests it and gets a good return. One of the others takes it to the bank and puts it in for safe keeping and earns a little interest. And the third buries his talents in the field so they will be safe.

Well of course you know the boss came back and was very happy with the first guy. Not so much with the second; and he kicked the third guy to the curb.(wouldn’t you just love to have me paraphrase the whole Bible this way..hehhe) How does this all relate to knitting? you are asking yourself right now…. well I will tell you.

At the church conference I just went to they had a program called multiply your talents (in this case it means both talents and money) they give you $5 and you take it as seed money and invest in something that you can use, related to your talents and multiply the money in that way. Then at the end of the year you bring the money you made to the conference and it goes into the On Earth Peace fund of the church.

So I am looking for away I can ‘multiply my talent’. It is apparent that I have some talent in the loom knitting design arena. So I am looking for someone to sell me a large amount of yarn cheap!! I would like to design a scarf/shawl that is in some riverly colours. You know peace like a river and all that… I would use that yarn to design the sample piece and then sell the patterns (and the finished piece) to raise money for the fund. I would also like to do a needle knit version as well, to spread the joy! So any takers? anyone have some nice river colored yarn they want to give up for $5??

Please let me know! I am very excited to get this seed money growing!
